Ginger Tea Foot Bath Recipe

You will need a footbath or basin large enough for 2 pairs of feet. Ginger tea is perfect for bathing as it is completely water soluble and will impart a comforting warmth to your feet.

You can add a drop or two of an aphrodisiac oil; choose a ginger compatible aroma according to mutual preference such as coriander essential oil, cardamom essential oil, ylang ylang essential oil, sandalwood essential oil, jasmine essential oil, neroli essential oil or patchouli essential oil.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tsp grated dried ginger, or 6 tsp fresh ginger
  • 1200 ml water
  • 1 to 2 drops essential oil (chosen from the list above)
  • 30 to 40 marbles

Put the water and ginger into a saucepan. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 20 minutes. Strain the tea into a heat proof jug and pour into the footbath. Top up with enough lukewarm water to reach the required depth and temperature. Add the essential oil and swish around to disperse, then tumble in the marbles. Soak and play, moving your feet around the marbles for a glorious, massaging effect. When finished, gently pat each other’s feet dry.
