Marjoram Sports BlendMarjoram is particularly useful for sports people. Feelings of stiffness and soreness from over exercise can quickly be relieved with marjoram oils.

Marjoram Leg Exercise Oil

Use after a workout to help prevent stiffness. Apply like a body oil, or massage in, always stroking towards the heart.

  • 30 ml grapeseed or sweet almond oil
  • 10 drops marjoram essential oil
  • 2 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 1 drop basil essential oil
  • 2 drops juniper essential oil

Marjoram Sports Splash

Use this water based blend after sport to refresh the mind and tone the muscles.

  • 10 drops marjoram essential oil
  • 4 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 4 drops lemon essential oil
  • 10 ml alcohol (vodka is good)
  • 500 ml spring water

Put the essential oils and alcohol in a spray bottle or plant mister. Add the water and shake well before use. Avoid the face, eyes and other delicate areas.

Marjoram After Sports Rub

If your whole body aches after sport, apply a small amount of the following blend to the affected parts, making sure to avoid delicate areas.

  • 20 ml grapeseed or sweet almond oil
  • 10 ml diluted marjoram essential oil
  • 3 drops black pepper essential oil
  • 2 drops ginger essential oil

Shake well. Use a small amount each time.

Marjoram After Sports Shower

This is one of the simplest ways to combat the effects of sports exertion.

Simply put a drop of marjoram essential oil on your washcloth or sponge, put some unscented shower gel on top of this and use it to wash your body. Avoid delicate areas.

Relaxing Marjoram Sports Bath

To relax after exercise or a hard day, add 5 ml diluted marjoram oil and 2 drops lavender essential oil to a full bath. Don’t add the oils before the bath has finished running because they will quickly evaporate and their benefits lost. Swish the water around before getting in.

Also add Epsom salts to your bath if aching muscles are a particular problem. Add 3 x 15 ml Epsom salts to the water (along with the marjoram and lavender oil), swirl the salts around to dissolve them, then relax in the bath for 15 to 20 minutes.
