Mandarin, in harmony with other gentle aromas like chamomile, clary sage and sandalwood, can quieten an overactive mind and promote restful sleep. AlongĀside relaxation techniques, try these recipes for a night of sweet dreams:
Mandarin Tranquillity Blend
- 5 ml diluted mandarin oil
- 5 ml sweet almond oil
- 1 drop pure chamomile essential oil
- 1 drop pure clary sage essential oil
Gently massage a small amount of the blend into the back of the neck, onto the chest and over the solar plexus (where the rib-cage makes a v-shape).
Mandarin Mist
- Plastic funnel
- 25 ml orange flower water
- 3 drops pure mandarin essential oil
- 2 drops pure clary sage essential oil
- 1 drop pure sandalwood essential oil
Use a funnel to pour the orange flower water into a small plant mister or atomizer bottle. Add the essential oils and shake well. Just before bedtime, lightly spray your pillow and sheets, and allow to dry.
